I am Sean Felix, reclaimed poet and visual artist, independent school educator, born and raised in Washington, DC. I am certainly a product of a young adulthood in the 90s and used to be in the poetry and open mic scene in the early ’00s, angling to be the next apocalyptic Bukowski. But slam poetry didn’t want me, and my self-indulgence made for some bad poetry. I’m back now with an eye on observing our beautiful word and finding the best words to describe what I see. A cadence in many poems that borrows equally from Mary Oliver and William Carlos Williams, and art that tries to see beneath the sobriety of reality, the goal of my new journey is to find as many fellow travelers who want to question what we see everyday.
